HEY is pleased to announce its newest community resource, the Core Area Workgroup, this group will be comprised of Bay Area Health, Housing, Employment and Education service providers. Four times per year HEY will act as a convener and trainer of organizations interested in improving their outcomes and developing best practices for emancipating and emancipated foster youth. During these meetings participating organizations will have the opportunity to receive updates on policies, programs and services available for foster youth. The HEY Core Area WG meetings are a quarterly training opportunities for Health, Housing, Employment and Education service providers. The purpose of the group is to provide training and discussion opportunities for front line and mid management staff about improving outcomes and developing best practices for working with emancipating and emancipated foster youth. During these quarterly meetings participants will receive updates on policies, programs and services available to foster youth. This group will launch in September 2009.

HEY Education Workgroup Meeting
Location: San Francisco ILSP, 225 Valencia Street, SF
The HEY Education WG meetings are held bi-monthly for service providers and supporters interested in improving the educational outcomes of foster youth. The purpose of this group is to increase the number of SF Bay Area emancipated youth attending and completing a secondary education. During these meetings participants act as a “Community Think Tank” that discusses barriers and develops strategies and tools that support organizations and individuals working with foster youth.
