Year Up is a year long, paid job training and internship placement program for young adults ages 18 - 24. Students spend six months in a classroom setting developing essential professional skills in technology and business communication. Upon completion of the training, they are placed in six-month paid internships with local corporations. Through the course of the program, participants also earn 13 college credits through the City College of San Francisco.

The only requirements are that applicants must be between 18 - 24 years old, have a G.E.D. or HS Diploma, and legal right to work in the US.

The program has been so successful in the last few years that it has expanded across the county and now it is looking to double the number of Bay Area applicants. The application deadline for the upcoming class is August 13. Click here for an interest form and click here for a flyer.

For all our partner agencies...

The Hookup is a statewide text messaging service for youth. The service provides youth with relevant and accurate sexual and reproductive health information and a convenient, confidential resource for accessing local clinics that offer free or low-cost sexual and reproductive health services. Through providing outreach materials to agencies that do outreach to youth, we’re hoping to help get more youth in California “hooked up” to weekly reproductive and sexual health tips and their nearest teen-friendly clinic.

The Hookup is an excellent model of a low-cost program using health communication and mobile technology to facilitate youth access to sexual and reproductive health information and services. For more information: http://www.teensource.org/pages/hookup

How your agency can get involved...

We have free print outreach materials available for only 100 youth-serving agencies in California. Each agency will receive 1000 palm cards, 500 stickers and 500 tattoos.

If you would like to receive free print outreach materials to distribute to the youth your agency serves, please pass along your contact information and mailing address to Emily Hendrick, STD Program Intern at: hendricke@cfhc.org by this Friday, June 25th

Free downloadable materials, including flyers/posters, palm cards, stickers and logos, can be found at http://www.stdhivtraining.org/swap.
